Transitive Verbs: ~ている= ~ing
~てある=Result of a previous action that has been done by someone.
The object is accompanied by が/は/を
e.g. ドアが開けてある (The door has been opened: Result of ドアを開ける)
Intransitive Verbs: ~ている= Result of a previous action now exists.
e.g. ドアが開いている(The door is open: Result of ドアが開く)
This merely describes the fact - describing something that is a state brought about by an unidentified individual or natural force.
